At Aiken Memory Care, Our Nourish program highlights the importance of nourishing mind, body, and soul. Journaling nourishes the mind and soul while providing an excellent opportunity to get your feelings out on paper.
Find a quiet spot where you can reflect and journal through your thoughts. No matter how you choose to engage with it, taking the time to write out your thoughts and feelings can help you to process your emotions, or to keep a record of important memories and events. Journaling can be a beneficial way to make sense of what you are feeling.
Grab a notebook, journal, or scrap of paper, and work through some journal prompts intended to nourish your mind and soul.
Think of something you’ve been waiting for warmer weather to try. Write about it. Are you excited, nervous, skeptical?
Kindness is important, but we often forget to be kind to ourselves. Write something kind about yourself!
With spring on the horizon, there’s lots to look forward to! Nature is in a cycle of renewal and growth. Pay attention to the flowers blooming, blossoming trees, and the return of warm weather. How does it make you feel? Write about that in your journal.
Is there a loved one you’d like to connect with? Instead of writing in your journal, it might be the perfect time to write that person a letter!
